Oregon's Best Growers Retain
Penn StandardsPenncross is the first generation seed produced by random crossing of 3 clonal strains of stolons provided by Penn State, 10(37)4 (Pennlu), 9(38)5, and 11(38)4, producing vigorous plants much like garden variety hybrid corn. The three parents of Penncross for proper pollination and seed production are charcoal planted
as shown below.
Penneagle and PennLinks fields are planted using breeder seed provided by Penn State. These varieties are subject to the same rigid production and certification standards as Penncross, including scrutiny from Dr. Joe Duich and Oregon seed certification officials before they bear the Blue Tag of certification. Any seed produced from these fields not meeting certification standards cannot be sold as Penneagle or PennLinks.
The new Penn Pals are likewise grown to extremely high, rigid standards established by the breeder,
Dr. Joe Duich.
All Penn Pals products bear a lot number that can be traced to a grower, field, and production year. Questions about propriety should be addressed to
Tee-2-Green Corp.
From charcoal planting, timely applications of chemical tools to the hand roguing of contaminants, select growers carry quality control another step along the way to excellence in golf course turfgrasses.
